Iran-Turkmenistan friendship dam to open

Iran-Turkmenistan friendship dam will be inaugurated on 12 April at the presence of the two nations' leaders. The Dam has been constructed in 75 kilometers out of Sarakhs township over Hariroud river. Iran dam

 

Iran and Turkmenistan have allocated US$168 million for construction of THIS dam, which is due to provide some 150 million cubic meters of Mashad's drinking water.

 

The dam is also to provide water for irrigating about 25,000 hectares of farmlands in Sarakhs plain.

 

The capacity of reservoir of the dam is put at 1250 million cubic meters and the volume of its water is some 820 million cubic meters each year.

 

Iran-Turkmenistan Friendship dam is located at about 260 kilometers northeast of Mashad.
