Qatar: Listed companies report higher profits

Doha Securities MarketData released by Doha Securities Market (DSM) has shown that all 43 Qatari Public Shareholding Companies listed on the exchange achieved a net profit of QR 24.02 billion (US$6.5 billion) for the nine months ending September 30, 2008 in comparison to QR 15.22 billion (US$4.14 billion) of the corresponding period in 2007, marking a growth of 57.77%.  

 

According to the report, the DSM general price index closed at 9,314 points by the end of the third quarter of 2008 compared with 8,097 points by the end of the same quarter last year. These figures translate into a 15% rise.
