Posted: 01-10-2008 , 14:19 GMT

European G8 members will meet on Saturday in Paris to discuss a European response to the financial crisis, according to Luxembourg's PM Juncker, who is also head of the eurogroup and will take part in the meeting. Late yesterday, EU Commission president Barroso said Brussels was preparing several measures "and not only on the European level" as "something must be done on the global level as well". The meeting could also be a preparation for an international summit meeting on the crisis, as proposed by French president Sarkozy.
