Posted: 13-01-2005 , 13:29 GMT

Work on the prestigious residential and commercial development, Indigo Tower designed by internationally renowned architects, Atkins has commenced at Jumeirah Lake Towers, a freehold venture from Nakheel. Indigo Tower

Contractors, Al Rostamani Pegel who built the 21st Century Tower in Dubai, expect building to be complete by October 2006, although all commercial units and more than 90% of residential units have already been sold.

Indigo Tower has the prime position on the first plot at Jumeirah Lake Towers which comprises approximately 78 towers set among lakes, waterways, a well planned road network, parking facilities, shopping boulevards and landscaped gardens.

“We are thrilled that more than 90% of units in the tower have been sold when building has only just started,” said Mahesh Tourani, director, Jumeirah Properties Investment Ltd, the developers behind Indigo Tower.

“The offices, studio and one-bedroom apartments were the most popular, while nearly all of the two and three-bedroom units have been sold,” Tourani added.  “We were also offering four penthouses and one is still available.”

Apart from what Tourani described as ‘the affordable luxury element’ offered by Indigo Tower units, he said the location and striking design of the tower assisted in its popularity.  Indigo Tower is strategically located between the fifth and sixth interchange on Sheikh Zayed Road and is within easy reach of the commercial centre of Dubai, luxury shopping malls, hotels and beach resorts.

Soaring to 35 floors, Indigo Tower has eight floors of office space and a further 23 floors of residential apartments.  Apart from its striking ‘A’-shaped structural design and extensive use of indigo coloured glass complementing a silver grey exterior, the development boasts over-sized studio apartments and one, two and three-bedroom apartments.

Amenities include a fully equipped gymnasium, steam room, lap pool, Jacuzzi, juice bar, a coffee shop, shopping boulevard, 24-hour security, covered car parking and six high speed lifts – three for the residential floors and three for the commercial floors.  Residents and commercial tenants will have separate entrances to the building and all owners will be entitled to a residence visa.

Jumeirah Lake Towers is a high-rise waterfront commercial and residential development by Nakheel, comprising 23 clusters, each with three towers.  Different investors are constructing a tower on each of the plots in the clusters, of a residential, commercial or retail nature, under the guidelines of Nakheel.  The ultra-modern development, with its panoramic views and surroundings provides a relaxing environment, making it an ideal place to live and work.
