ERM (Environmental Resources Management), the world’s leading environmental consultancy, has chosen Abu Dhabi as its Middle Eastern base to provide business support services to corporate and public sector clients across the region. ERM (Environmental Resources Management)

ERM has an established relationship with over 50 per cent of the Global Fortune 500 companies and has assisted many central and regional governments in delivering a response to the sustainable development agenda.

Malcolm Hutton, ERM’s Global Director of Diversification and Innovation, said:  “ERM has been involved with projects in the Middle East since the early 1980s but as the region’s economy experiences rapid growth due to the booming oil & gas and construction markets, there is an increasing need for environmental, health and safety services.

“A large number of our corporate clients in the oil and gas, manufacturing and construction industry already have a presence in the region, and many others are closely examining the potential development opportunities. The establishment of a local office will help us better support our clients’ operations in this area ensuring they are operating in compliance with both global corporate standards and increasingly stricter local legislation.

“This is an exciting area in which to be expanding our operations and we are delighted to be able to offer a local point of contact through which to access our global expertise. ”

ERM was voted Environmental Adviser of the Year for 2005  and offers a wide range of support services to private and public sector organisations in the region, including:
• Environmental Due Diligence
• Brownfield Regeneration and Environmental Planning
• Renewable Energy
• Corporate Assurance
• Strategic Environmental Assessment
• Health, Safety and Hazard Management
• Contaminated Land and Remediation
• Waste Management and Life Cycle Analyses
• IPPC permitting; and
