Software AG empowers Saudi Telecom Company to deliver superior value-added services to 20 million subscribers
Posted: 18-11-2009 , 13:53 GMT

Software AG, a global leader in business infrastructure software, has announced that it has recently signed a five-year agreement with Saudi Telecom Company (STC), which will enable the leading Saudi telecom provider to use Software AG's webMethods product suite in developing advanced applications, improving business processes and optimising the strategic advantages of STC's technology investments. Specifically, Software AG will provide maintenance and support services focusing on Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and billing systems, which will ultimately benefit STC's more than 20 million subscribers through more efficient and superior value-added customer support facilities.

The partnership is bound to help STC enhance its relationship with customers. Furthermore, the five-year agreement manifests the continued satisfaction of STC in Software AG's products and services; since 2003, Software AG has been a trusted partner in delivering solutions that address various IT and technology integration challenges of STC.

Marco Gerazounis, Senior Vice President, Software AG, Middle East, said: "Software AG has been providing technology support services to STC since 2003 and this new five-year agreement reaffirms our vital contributions in consolidating STC's position as a leading telecommunications provider. STC relies on us to link their CRM and billing systems, which is a critical requirement for a telecom operator, while STC also uses our technology for other projects it is working on. Our continuing partnership with STC sends a clear message about Software AG's strength and our firm commitment to this region."

"Software AG's technology is very stable, while we remain unmatched in terms of understanding the integration environment of our clients. On the other hand, STC has a large and experienced team using our products, which is why it was both practical and ideal for them to partner with Software AG rather than migrate to a different technology that will most likely lead to more complex challenges and high risks," added Gerazounis.

The new agreement with STC has been part of a continuing expansion program by Software AG in key markets across the MENA region. The company has recently won contracts by prominent customers for various Software AG technology solutions including SAP ePayroll B2B integration. Software AG also supports customers in modernising their mainframe environments and legacy systems.
