Dubai ruler announces new oil discovery

oilSheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai on Thursday announced a new oil discovery in the Emirate, stressing that the discovery will contribute to strengthen the local economy.

 

"In addition to other positive impacts that will give a strong impetus to all sectors of the local economy and provide a new source of income enhancing the comprehensive development of Dubai," Al Maktoum said in a statement, cited by WAM news agency.

 

This came during the meeting held between Al Maktoum with a number of sheikhs, Ministers and a group of dignitaries that took place just before the Cabinet meeting. He announced the good news congratulating UAE citizens with this oil discovery. He also stated that this field is located east of "Rashid" field.
